Butterfly and Pinecone

The whole sculpture is mounted on a piece of driftwood. THe box is lined in a hand printed piece of fabric. The ceramic butterfly and pinecone are from my collection of small works. I regulalry create odd pieces when I have small amounts of clay that needs to be used up. It helps take advantage of small places in the ceramic kiln that would otherwise get wasted. The half circle off to the left side once was a wall shelf. The wood is a prized type of tree that grows in the northwest. The orange flower is painted on a vintage wooden coaster from china. My grandparents collected artifacts from china. And the metal leaf was found.
