 The Textile Series

Featured Collection: Reimagined Meadows Wall Sculptures

A collection of textile-based wall sculptures born from what was left behind. Each piece begins with discarded quilts—abandoned mid-story or worn by time—and transforms them into imagined botanical landscapes.

These are sketches of nature, capturing gestural lines and interpretations of flowers that sustain our pollinators and ecosystems. Layer by layer, fabric, lace, and fragments of the past become the background. Then, with free-motion stitching, each composition is drawn in thread—like a sketch, the lines are expressive, energetic, and alive. Finally, fluid acrylic inks bring the piece to life, flowing like watercolor to let the textures of the fabric shine through.

The Intricate Layering Process

Each 12″ x 12″ wall sculpture is created through a meticulous, multi-layered studio process:

  • Source: Vintage quilts and textiles are carefully selected and reworked.
  • Depth: Fabrics are built layer upon layer to create tactile depth and texture.
  • Line: Free-motion sewing is used to “draw” the expressive botanical image in thread.
  • Color: Acrylic inks are applied, flowing seamlessly across the fibers like watercolor.
  • Detail: Hand-placed buttons, beads, and ceramic elements reward close viewing.
  • Note: Because of this organic process, no two pieces can ever be replicated.
