Meet Your Instructor: Deborah Landry

“The world is art and love—don’t judge it, explore to exhaustion.”

Art is at the absolute core of my being. I have always embraced the idea that art is a universal language that crosses all boundaries, cultures, and backgrounds to communicate without words. My work reflects a deep curiosity about both botanical nature and human nature, and you will often find that my own gardens provide the exact raw materials and inspiration I use in my studio—whether that is harvesting leaves for nature printing, sourcing fibers for papermaking, or gathering ideas for my multi-medium sculptures.

As a lifelong, multi-passionate artist, I choose not to limit myself to just one style or material. I create fine art, build intricate Journey Sculptures, paint, and design community-engaging public art installations. For me, the true magic happens when the act of creating becomes a collaborative experience.

Why I Teach

I opened the doors to my dedicated studio space because I want to demystify the creative process. Many people think they aren’t “artistic” simply because they haven’t found the right medium yet.

Whether you are a complete beginner holding a paintbrush for the first time, or a seasoned hobbyist looking to push your creative boundaries, my goal is to guide you step-by-step. I design my workshops to be entirely stress-free, experimental, and incredibly fun. When you step into my studio, you aren’t just taking a class—you are joining me in an artistic adventure. Let’s make something beautiful together!
