The sculpture has a soft and gentle feel. The colors, cream, greens and blue guide your eye though the sculpture. I love how your eye stays in the box to see all the details of the small items. Your eye also stops at the oil painting, to go follow the dirt road back in the forest.
A friend gave me the spoon when she went to Thailand. It has a hand carved handle with a coconut ladle. I knew it was not going to be used in the kitchen for cooking or serving so it was the beginning of this sculpture . The tray it sits on is filled with drawing tools, a compass, ink, and oil paint. In the box you will also find Chinese brush rest, and three jade eggs with beautiful hand painted birds on them. They are works of art in temselves. The maple leaves and fern painting are encaustics, they both have a surface that is reminiscent of old peeling paint or weather surface. The small oil painting of a dirt road through a forest is on canvas. I found the paint brushes wrapped in plastic, I forgot them after a job I did. When I found them I knew they were perfect for journey sculptures. The creamer at the top and the lid in the tray is from an English tea set. There is a small butterfly print on fabric mounted on a small piece of wood.

Contact Journey Sculptures when you decide to purchase a sculpture in the inventory. All sales are done in person or by phone. We accept credit cards, and other forms of payment. Our goal is for you to be 100% satisfied. Not only with your sculpture, but also the process of purchasing and delivery. We will work with you every step of the way to ensure all processes are smooth.
Shipping
Shipping will be arranged at the time of purchasing the sculpture. If possible Deborah will deliver and install the sculpture. When hand delivery is not possible boxing and shipping will be arranged with a national or international carrier. This will be worked out at the time of purchase. Factors of location and size of sculpture will determine if additional cost will be incurred. Deborah’s intent is to keep the cost as manageable as possible. There is no reasonable way to calculate the shipping cost without knowing the location. We decided to do it this way so that we were not arbitrarily adding shipping cost to each sculpture price. It makes sense to figure shipping at the time of the sale.
